What Are The Benefits of Dark Mode in iCard?

Pavel Panayotov 25 January, 2020
dark mode in icard is so cool

Many of our clients got in touch with a recommendation to include “dark mode” in iCard. We are glad that the hard work and numerous tests conducted by our team now lets you switch on the new dark look of your digital wallet. It is both elegant and practical. The dark mode is available for Android devices and iCard versions 8.03 or later – for all three plans: Starter, Entry, and Standard.

The dark mode is becoming increasingly popular with consumers. It’s no longer just a minor extra. We are so attached to our mobile devices that the option for choosing an appropriate colour scheme is now a must. The Wall Street Journal is explicit that “every app should have a dark mode.”

The dark mode is indeed one of the most appropriate additions for today’s apps. Amazon Kindle apps, Google Maps, Twitter, Reddit, YouTube and others are trying to provide their users with high-quality service and include the new option. If you’re on a desktop, you can take a swing and choose a similar option from the iOS and Windows 10 settings menus. Addons and extensions are now available for most web browsers as well. Some apps, like Twitter, even offer a choice between two dark modes – ink blue and pitch black.

We put together a list of the most important dark mode benefits that you can take advantage of while managing your money via iCard:

1. Easy on your eyesight

Easy on your eyesight

We are constantly online writing messages, searching Google, checking emails, posting to social networks. In addition, most of us stare at the monitor throughout the workday. Smartphones, tablets, portable game consoles, laptops, TVs – screens had captured our attention. They became our main source of information and transformed the way we think. Stats show that adults consume 5 times more information than they did 50 years ago.

The change in our daily habits affects our health. Strong light affects our eyesight and it is increasingly stressful. This leads to eye fatigue, which can turn into a more serious problem – most often a headache. In such cases, reducing the screen brightness settings is ineffective.

Dark mode helps you avoid the dazzling effect of very bright screens. Thanks to the new iCard dark looks, the right amount of light reaches your eyes. The dimmed screen brightness takes good care of your eyesight. Opt for dark mode whenever applicable.

2. Does not affect your sleep

does not affect your sleep

Sciencе already has the tools to better understand the condition called sleep. It helps us get more insights into the process that keeps the brain active but in another mode. To be fresh and fully functional, we need to take enough and quality sleep.

There is an increasing understanding that sleep disorders are caused by electronic devices. Most device manufacturers recommend the use of a so-called blue light filter in the dark hours of the day. Blue light reminds our brains of daylight. In the evening, this is considered a conflicting signal and getting rid of the blue after 7 PM will help us sleep better at night.

Although you can schedule your blue light filter, it is not enough to keep up with the natural 24/7 rhythm of your brain and body. This is why we gave you dark mode in iCard. It will help you fall asleep more easily than usual and you will not disturb your partner, sleeping next to you. Opt for dark mode when sending money to a friend or while shopping online (with a Standard plan), from under your duvet.

3. Saves energy and your battery

saves energy and your battery

The dark mode gives you a key advantage – your phone battery lasts longer. If you have a smartphone with an OLED display, just like most devices on the market, you might have noticed that not all pixels are lit up. When the background is white every pixel is illuminated. That requires more energy. When the background is dark and the text is white, only the bright pixels are lit up. This consumes significantly less energy from the battery.

Our priority is to make your life easier. When you are travelling, it’s important that your battery lasts longer, because charging it on time is not always an option. iCard’s dark mode can be part of your plan “B”. The digital wallet is not the only app you use on the go, but since it uses less energy than normal, you can have enough charge to take all the pictures you want, and even share them.

One more thing: remember that the less energy you use, the more environmentally friendly you live. Every journey begins with the first step: start yours by using a dark theme for all the applications that support it.

4. Easier to use in dark

Have you ever tried driving at night and using your navigation in day mode? The bright light emitted from your GPS makes seeing the road a real challenge. Focusing on the road after looking at the bright navigation screen just takes longer and is considered dangerous.

The same is valid for your smartphone use. If the only light around you came from the street lamps, you would be briefly blinded if you unlock your phone in bright mode.

With iCard’s dark mode on, you can easily send money even during your midnight walks.

5. It looks cool

cool outlook

Dark colours are synonymus with the sense of style and elegance. You can think of dark modes as the apps’ the evening “attires” – their dark tuxedos or small black dresses.

iCard makes it easier to take care of your own health while staying aware of your energy use. At the same time, the dark theme design of iCard is beautiful and balanced.

Here is how to activate the iCard’s dark mode:

  1. Open the main menu and go to “Notifications and settings”
  2. Go to the “Settings” tab
  3. Switch on the “Dark mode”

Give it a try right now! Click here to open your iCard settings.

That is iCard’s only dark side.
