We can proudly say that they are the most valuable resource of our company. We will tell you their interesting stories, make you part of the work process and the funny moments of the team of iCard. Make yourself comfortable because it is time to start!
The first person that we have invited is Yanitsa Koleva. Everyone who has seen Yani can say about her that she is always smiling. “I want the people around me to be happy and I believe that will bring balance in my life,” says she.
Yani is part of the team of the company for 4 years and right now she is working as an Operations Specialist. She describes herself as a dynamic person, who loves changes and new challenges. She thinks that other people see her as a cheerful and sunny person who is seeing the good in each situation.
See here what Yani the optimistic told us about herself:
What is your biggest dream?
Hm, I am thinking because I realized that I’m not dreaming about anything material. Yes, I would like to travel more often and see a lot of new places, but even if it doesn’t happen, it’s not a big problem. I would want, no matter how trivial it is, my family and close ones to feel good and us to get along.
What is your favourite place?
The sea. The movement of the water and that you can’t see the land across the sea is making me feel weightless. It is showing me that all things can be quite good and there I can be myself without any limitations and standards.
Now I thought of a dream that I want to become reality: to celebrate New Year’s Eve on the beach – hot weather, calm atmosphere, drinking cocktails with family and friends with swimsuits on.
You are part of the running team of iCard. Tell us how you decided to start running and from how long have you been doing it?
I started running when I got into the iCard’s dream. Everything has happened two and half years ago when I decided to try the hall for group training in our office in Varna. I was wondering why people there are always smiling after the workouts.
Later, I signed myself in the iCard Sport Open competition. After the event, I was invited to be a part of the women’s team of iCard in a run in Sofia. I was very worried that I will not do well because I only have one month to prepare for it. Thank God, everything went well and that’s how I decided to sign out for the other marathons.
In how many running competitions have you participated with the team of iCard?
I have participated in 3 relay races with the team – in Sofia, Plovdiv and Varna. In the beginning, it is very hard to get used to waking up early to run before work. We do it on the beach and during the summer some people are already sunbathing or are in the sea. When you look at the sea, everything disappears – the fact that you have to wake up at 5 am, carry additional clothes all the time, hurry for everything etc.
Have you taken part in other sports events in the company?
Except in the relay races and iCard Sport Open, I also have participated in the “High-Intensity Interval Plank” competition. When I found out about it, I signed up for it immediately, because I knew that this was something I’m good at. I love the dynamic exercises. I managed to make the exercises for 30 minutes and I took the second prize. I wanted to give up in the beginning but luckily I managed to make it through the end.
Do you remember what was your first meeting with iCard? How did you start working in the company?
I came to iCard after my friends told me about the open position and I decided to try. My attitude was very positive about the interview, I was not worried at all. Му first impression about the company was for warmth and comfort despite all windows and the modern equipment in the building.
You work as an Operations Specialist in the company. Tell us what exactly that means?
Тhe work in my department, in which I recently moved into, is very comprehensive. We deal with the processing and execution of claims and asks from clients who call Customer Support. The colleagues from this department forward us the customer’s requests and we fulfil them.
We meet the needs of our customers without being in direct contact with them. In general, it is operational work, we are called “operations” after all. It is interesting to me, I learned a lot, but I still have a lot to learn. I like that all people in the company are always ready to help and answer your questions. They give you confidence that you will succeed.
This is a job where no two days are the same. What do you like most about your work?
Yes, the cases we work on are different and we do various things every time. My work includes a lot of document folders, and I like to be surrounded by documents. It’s interesting and new to me, exciting and challenging, I feel good.
What do you like to do when you’re not at work?
When we’re not on the beach, I like to read books and watch movies. At this point, I am mainly taking care of my daughter Ema. Both winter and summer – we are always on the beach.
By the way, when we came to Sofia last year for the relay race, for the first time in my life I saw snow on June 4th. We decided to climb Cherni Vrah – it was extreme but fun. I even fell into a hole and we made snow angels. At this time of the year, we make angels on the sand.
Tell us a little more about your children.
I have two children – a 16-year-old son and a 7-year-old little princess. They are very different and both emotional. They are brought up in the same way, but at first glance, they have nothing in common.
An interesting fact is that my daughter came to the first competition I participated in last year – iCard Sport Open. The exercises we did are familiar to her because she goes to hip-hop dances and she did them with us. We joked that she was participant number 13. She has come to the office with me a few more times and visited the kids’ party for June 1 in 2021.
She has a clear strategy that she will take my place when I retire. Ema knows my colleagues and likes the office very much. She wants to go to work instead of me.
What or who inspires you the most?
The biggest inspiration for me is the book “The Noticer” by Andy Andrews. It shows the same event, viewed through a different point of view of a person, depending on his experience. This is the book that I recommend to everyone. It can be read fast and if a person is old enough he/she can see the things that will help him/her feel better in his daily life.
